The last few years have seen an explosion of innovations in the field of technology. Things were moving in leaps and bounds, with Phonebloks (now Project Ara), Google Glass (now on pause) and 3D printing (now printing food and body parts) achieving some fantastic stuff. Moreover, then there was the Internet of Things – connecting more and more devices, finding more and more challenges and coming up with better and better solutions.
IoT has the audacity, and the capability, to make the world function more efficiently, by leveraging on communication between devices and people with the ingenious use of location data, networks and permissions. It is this impact that led us at Allerin to think about how we could use our collective brainpower and passions to solve some pieces of the IoT puzzle. That is when we realised that the puzzle board itself was not readily available to all.
We’re talking about the IoT Framework – a platform for developers to create the software, hardware, middleware and communication tools that would make up the IoT infrastructure. So in 2013, we started Project Malta, an initiative to build the IoT puzzle board for developers to fill the puzzle pieces and fill some pieces in ourselves!

Project Malta’s IoT framework assists developers to create the hardware and software required for:

With this IoT framework, developers are only bound by their limits of creativity. Project Malta gives organisations the platform to build innovative and customizable solutions.
IoT Solutions
While giving the world a platform to change the world, we wanted to work on some solutions ourselves! Project Malta includes two cutting-edge IoT products:
– Vehicle Insurance Calculator
This is a patented Enterprise IoT product by Allerin that aims to record vehicle driving statistics and calculate insurance premiums for drivers based on various driving and maintenance parameters. A solution that will significantly reduce the payouts by insurance companies, this product also has tremendous value to scale into other related solutions.
– Health Monitor
Another patented IoT product, this one is aimed at consumers at large. The Health Monitor will identify changes in blood, sweat and heart rate to detect changes that affect health and increase/reduce health risks for the user.
